freeze

https://blog.kember.net/posts/2008-04-reisub-the-gentle-linux-restart/
REISUB - the gentle Linux restart
Holding down Alt and SysRq (which is the Print Screen key) while slowly typing REISUB will get you safely restarted. REISUO will do a shutdown rather than a restart.
R: Switch the keyboard from raw mode to XLATE mode
E: Send the SIGTERM signal to all processes except init
I: Send the SIGKILL signal to all processes except init
S: Sync all mounted filesystems
U: Remount all mounted filesystems in read-only mode
B: Immediately reboot the system, without unmounting partitions or syncing

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key

Note: It may be extra slow to shut down when operating on USB

Note2: Seems it currently need to first be manually enabled on mga10 :/

What GPU?

Good you were using persistence - Can you see something in the log?

To see from previous boot, in a terminal:

# journalctl -b-1

GPG keys

20:35 < demib0y> updating a cauldron system for the first time in a few months & publik keys have all expired; Tried the wiki steps but didn't seem to work. Well, life with
Cauldron :-)
20:38 < wally_> which wiki steps?
20:43 < demib0y> updated distribution-keys, removed all media & readded, tried to find a “rpmdb-updatekeys” service but didn't have one, nor did urpmf find one
20:46 < wally_> those are not for cauldron
20:46 < demib0y> updated urpmi too. but urpmi --no-verify-keys still says key has expired. Installed individual packages with rpm -Uvh --nosignature from /var/cache
20:46 < demib0y> well, yeah, understood, is unsupported :)
20:47 < wally_> $ rpmkeys --list
20:47 < wally_> # rpmkeys --delete 80420f66
20:48 < wally_> # rpmkeys --import /usr/share/distribution-gpg-keys/mageia/RPM-GPG-KEY-Mageia
20:49 < demib0y> worked, thank you so much!

tests

lspcidrake -vv
inxi -F
For example: inxi -AG | inxi -A -G | inxi -b | inxi -c10 | inxi -exxzJy90 | inxi -bay

inxi -bayz # suficient, missing bluetooth, screens

- Boot: OK
- Wifi: Ok
- Firefox: OK
- Mageia Welcome: the other eleven buttons in the tab More Information
behaved OK
- Video: OK (Youtube and local tv app)
- Sound: OK (pc speakers OK, Bluetooth earphones OK, so BT OK)
- Konsole: OK, ping: OK
- Libre Office Writer: OK
- System Monitor: OK
- MCC Browse Hardware: OK (no more freezing after ten seconds)
- Mouse: double click is not standard, you have to change to single
click in Mageia System settings.
- MCC usb Brother printer: is recognized, but printing a test file
failed (due to not installed drivers from Brother).

clé USB persistante

However, I'll repeat the advice I always give. Persistence is useful if
you just want to add a few extra packages to the Live ISO (and don't
want to build your own custom Live ISO). But if you want a system on a
USB stick that you intend to update regularly, it is better to use the
classical installer to install a normal system on the USB stick - it
will be faster and use less RAM.

+ hw-probe => to upload detected hardware
+ change of configuration => ublock for Firefox, no google but ddg
