Upgrading from Mageia 9 to Mageia 10 for netbook Toshiba Satellite T110
- upgrade ~ok just before rc1 publication
- loss of battery o_O
- replace GDM with XDM to have a login screen, SDDM replacement would not be suficient this time :/ (had to enable auto-login, which takes some time
- Mageia 9 still appears instead of Mageia 10 (minor)
- Cauldron with bubbles (Mageia 9 screen still appearing at boot time)
- very long to get to login... (ok this 5400 rpm hdd does not help, neither the one-core CPU :/)
upgrading from Mageia 9 to Mageia 10
Came from an installation of GNOME Live installation, nearly vanilla (not that many packages added)well, went well as I chose to launch it from console/tty3: ctrl + alt + F3 then as root
- missing packages in the middle as they were replaced by newer ones, re-launch urpmi --auto-update --auto # which went to the end for once
- tainted release / updates not enabled, maybe it helped a bit
- GDM does not appear at reboot, some Mageia 9 screen (cauldron with bubbles) still remaining
- chose to reboot to repair boot: Mageia 9 still appears :/ chose XDM with drakdm and went to reboot
- I do not remember if GNOME is launched with wayland or X11 :/
