Well I'm using Cauldron which is the development version for Mageia distribution, so it's (nearly) a rolling-release.
Installing with ##urpmi task-enlightenment## and begin configuration of e 0.27.1 as of 2025-07-22
Following [[https://linuxfr.org/forums/linux-debutant/posts/comment-ajouter-des-icones-sur-le-bureau-d-elementaryos-8#comment-1996221]] I tried to do it, even though I would not put anything on my desktop as it's hidden by maximized application windows

Configuration by defaukt does not satisfy me completely :/ I run enlightenment with X11
What's ok
~- the dock (called //shelf//) has a mageia icon, is at the bottom (I prefer left or top)
~- ""HiDPI"" is not taken account with X11 (contrary to GNOME), I get my full screen back (1920x1080), choose 1 factor and not 0,8 otherwise it's too small :D
What I changed
~- enable //tap to click//: menu configuration / control panel / entries / option mouse, tab touchpad => acceleration 0,4 + enable tap to click #% Apply #%
~- put the shelf at the top (or left) and beautify it: right click on menu icon / shelf / configuration then tab position up (left), then tab size 68 pixels is larger (40 may be suficient), tab style choose invisible (classy), tab auto-hide enable and configure delay to 0,2
~- luminosity is at its max by default: change it with luminosity icon
What I found
~- having gkrellm available on all desktops (and above windows): configure to have desktop decoration, right-click for contextual menu and enable always above & pinned to have it on all desktops, et voilà!
~- obtain global overview of applications on current desktop (like in GNOME with #%Super#%) : well #%_Alt_#% + #%_Tab_#% and clicking on the miniature does it
~- keyboard shortcut to move to right or left desktop: #%Ctrl#% + #%Alt#% + #%right#% or #%left#% arrow, or click on the desktop in the shelf
What remains to be found
~- identify why launching enlightenment with wayland only displays a black screen
~- why terminology does not take into account a standard PS1 (as is the case with gnome-terminal), I had to set it manually PS1='\[\e]133;D;$?\e\\\e]133;A\e\\\][\u@\h \W$(type __git_ps1 >/dev/null 2>&1 && __git_ps1 " (%s)")]\$ \[\e]133;B\e\\\]'
~- keyboard shortcut to move a window to next desktop: well clicking on the miniature window of desktop in the shelf does it, but well... it's small!
What I have to get accustomed to
~- changes of configuration need confirmation with #%_Apply_#% to take effect, I would prefer a direct change (and #%Cancel#% to come back to previous configuration, there's only #%_OK_#%)
~- try using it as a tiling manager (check configuration to achieve it)
~- I miss #%Super#% displaying all applications on current desktop, well #%alt#% + #%tab#% or three-fingers tapping on the desktop is an alternative

~- small RAM footprint: indeed, even though Firefox and chromium eat up all the rest :/
~- launching directly an application: #%alt#% + #%_space_#% displays krunner
~- middle-clicking / three-fingers tapping on desktop displays a list of all applications to switch to directly
